What is the process and content of piston rod?
(1) The surface of the piston rod should have high hardness and wear resistance, because it will be subjected to alternating load and repeated friction during normal use.
(2) Generally, the piston rod is made of 38CrMoAlA material, which is subject to quenching and tempering treatment and surface nitriding. The depth of surface nitriding is 0.2-0.3mm, so that the hardness of the core is 28-32hrc and the hardness of the surface is 62-65hrc, which further optimizes the piston rod and has good toughness and wear resistance.
(3) Piston rod is a slender shaft part with large length and diameter, but its rigidity is not very good, so it should be divided into rough turning and fine turning, so as to ensure the machining accuracy. And the tool holder used shall be consistent, so as to reduce the deformation of the workpiece.
(4) When selecting the positioning datum, all processing procedures shall adopt two center holes for positioning, which can not only meet the principle, but also ensure the position accuracy.
(5) When grinding the cylindrical surface, the workpiece is easy to deform or make a knife, which will affect the accuracy of the piston rod. Therefore, the central hole should be kept clean, the tightness between it and should be appropriate, and the lubrication should be good.
(6) The grinding wheel should be narrower, so as to minimize the radial grinding force.
(7) The grinding amount should be appropriate and the depth should not be too large.
(8) The grinding of outer circle and taper shall be carried out separately. Manual straightening is not allowed in the whole process of piston rod.
(9) When the piston rod is nitrided, some protective devices should be used to achieve the purpose of protection.
